Grand Canyon University athletes from sports that aren’t in season got to compete against each other — and have a little fun — Thursday in the Fall Fitness Challenge. “It’s all about teams getting to be with each other and supporting each other,” said Chuck Howard, GCU’s director of performance athletics. “My thing is to make a community out of it. We’re all in this together.” The athletes competed in a variety of events, everything from pushing sleds and flipping truck tires to running obstacle courses and doing pull-ups, and then had an after-party at the pool. “We want to do it around finals because they’re stressed and this is good stress relief,” Howard said.
